The Timberlumber Table

To start from the very beginning, my first public exhibition Feb 2009 at the The Poly in Falmouth, Cornwall, was when I suddenly thought that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. I created this table over a one month period, with £7.50 of offcut oak and offcuts of acrylic in the various shades of blue and white. It was intended to be used as a sofa table, to be at the side of a sofa to put mugs of tea on at the right height.

I got great response from it, and have kept hold of it to remind me that I can make anything I want from scratch. There are slices of acrylic hand lathed into the legs and the top of the table.
